Our hygiene team will remove the plaque and buildup that brushing and flossing alone can't reach. During your exam, the doctor will walk you through what they find using digital X-rays and close-up photos of your teeth, so you understand your own mouth as well as they do.
X-rays and detailed photos let us spot trouble that's invisible to the naked eye, including cavities forming between teeth or below the gumline. We'll use these images to show you exactly what's going on and talk through your options together.
Every complete exam will include a check of your mouth, jaw, and neck for anything unusual. Oral cancer is more common than most people realize, and it's most often found on the tongue or the floor of the mouth. Catching it early makes a real difference, which is why we build the screening into every visit rather than treating it as an add-on.
Sealants shield the deep grooves on back teeth where food and bacteria tend to collect and cause decay. We typically recommend them for kids once their permanent molars come in. The process itself takes just a few minutes and doesn't hurt at all, a thin coating gets painted onto the tooth and hardened with a curing light.
